Raimundo Figueroa, born in Puerto Rico in 1957, works across painting, collage, and diaristic notation in a practice rooted in the language of abstract expressionism. Trained first as a musician, he began making collages and montages in the early 1970s, and his compositions still carry that sense of accumulation, layering free-hand drawing with fragments of personal diaries gathered across decades. The result is a body of work in which gesture, color, and text behave as a continuous record of lived experience. His paintings are held in collections including the Museo de Arte Moderno in Mexico City, the Museo Tamayo, and the Museum of Modern Art in São Paulo. WE ARE, his current solo exhibition at RUDOLF BUDJA THEGALLERY in Miami Beach, gathers recent paintings and works on paper from 2024 to 2026.
